Irit Rosenberg:
Irit Rosenberg is an internationally recognized artist and educator. She has taught Art for over twenty years in New York City and in American International Schools to students in grades kindergarten through high school. In her role as educator she has also led art workshops for teachers.
More recently, she has focused her energies in creating large-scale permanent installations in schools using student works made from recycled materials. This new undertaking combines two of Irit's passions – educating students about the environment through recycling, and developing collaborations between schools and local communities. Her goal is to encourage awareness of alternative possibilities for the many items we discard in the course of daily living.
Irit is inspired to promote this concept of synergy between businesses, communities, schools, and independent organizations in the United States. Her successful model is based on a win-win foundation. Businesses that sponsor and exhibit these ambitious installations are rewarded by demonstrating their support for community-based initiatives supporting education and environmental issues. Students are actively engaged by organizing drives to acquire the needed materials, as well as participating in the artistic process. School PTAs act as a crucial link between the schools and the local communities and are essential to creating successful results.
Irit acts as the facilitator for these projects in your community, bringing her wealth of teaching experience and artistic oversight.
To find out more about how to execute this type of installation project at your school or place of business, please contact Irit at the email address above, and visit her web site for more examples of her work as an artist.
